Final Chapter: Webolution At The End

WOW, i actually made it to the end, took me a while, and I know I went MIA for a while. But hey, I got there at least. It was great to see many at work join in, and it was interesting to see so many things on the world wide web that had no idea existed. the Cocktail Builder website may actually come in handy!

Anyways, I've survived until the end, and shall see everyone at the Closing Ceremony in traditional librarian gear. thanks to KD for organising this. *hi5*

Chapter 14: In The Air Tonight

AHHH YOUTUBE! What is a girl to do on her uni break without youtube!!!! I HAD TO ADD this commercial in... I literallly am in a fit of laughter everytime i see it, and I ran to the telly everytime it came on. You cant go wrong with a Gorilla playing the drums to Phil Collins. ahhh Good times.

Youtube has enable so many individual to express themselves in their own ways and is able to reach all corners of the world. The library may want to use it in a way of advertising activities that happen at the library in video form.

Chapter 13: Award To Me

Ohhh how interesting some of there names were, and how interesting the taste would be to go with it.

Ideally I dont think this will help the library much. Personal Opinion.

Chapter 11: Wiki Wiki Wiki Whattttt?

Browsing and searching through the Wiki's was quite fun. Didn't even know such a thing existed, I knew about Wikipedia but that was a far as it goes. It would be useful for our library to use just to have feedback from customers and suggestions and all things library.

Other then this sort of use and an area of information, I have learnt in Uni that it would not be the ideal main source of information to be referencing as it is posted by and edited by anyone, information may not be accurate and misleading.

Though it can be used for other things then just researching, and used for communicating.

Chapter 10: Tag! You're IT!

So I've made it thus far, and am amazed at the amount of things that I was unaware of that is out there. It's endless I tell you!!!!

Although I am fond of my bookmarking, and favourties for websites. I again probably would not find this useful YET. I still find it more quicker and easier just to use the side menu that pops up, though I do not have endless pages mark, which may be the reason for this. Again I may need this in the future, who knows.

Same goes with, Technorati. I don't think I'll be using this at all. Cause I personally don't tend to blog too much, and don't like to have too much open and available to too many unknown people out there.

Chapter 09: Roll On

So the last part of the Playtime was the Rollyo functions.
Again it was extremely easy to use and was as simple as just typing in the site I use quite often. Personally not too sure if I'd be using this too often. Though it may come in handy if search various library catalogues or when I am researching journals for my assignments. Who knows.

Chapter 07: Life On Mars

Ok so i never really got to finish it all last night, I kind of, sort of, fell asleep. I ended up being late to my 9am lecture in G-Town too!!!!

Anyways, I went to the Street Sign Generator (http://www.streetsigngenerator.com/download.php) and this is what I came up with, with the four backgrounds that they had available.

Chapter 06: RSS - Real Simple

RSS: I never really have ever needed to use this, nor did i know what it actually stood for and to the extent that it is useful.

It comes in handy with updates in regards to particulare wedsites that I am interested in and regularly use, just like The Age website. It was also useful during the hectic times of the bust fires from Black Saturday. The pages that had information regarding the fires in all the times came in handy, and put a bit of ease on those that couldn't get through on the phonelines. I found that very useful.

Libraries are also able to use this to their advantage. They may be able to subscribe to those sites that allow people to see and be updated with the latest books released and when a new book is coming out soon.

What are we to do without it in our society and day to day life now. Probably just sit and cry!!!

I had an Information System Class for Small Business class today, and it was interesting to discover how reliant everything is on technology, and although well equiped with backing up data and valuable information for a company, some things are over looked and causes havoc for businesses which can be detrimental and cause for a collapse.

Technology is in every aspect of our lives. Such as the VicPolice SMS to all (most) Victorian mobiles alerting everyone about the risk and threats of upcoming weather conditions.

Technology can be the greatest asset someone has, but also their biggest nightmare if things don't go exactly to plan...

Chapter 03: Runaway with Flickr

Ok, so I know I've neglected my blog for some very long time now, but here I sit dedicating the entire night to the rest of these activities. It shall be one epic night.

So whilst looking at photos on flickr, I've come across a friends cousin flickr photos, of which she is a photographer that is studying in europe and takes extremely talented photos. I have been told that The Herald Sun has even used her photos. Very impressive.

So the photo I've decided to share from the flickr sight was these gentlemen with a random seagul. Can't imagine what she'd have to say to these men so that she can take a photo, if she asked at all. But that's so the life, sitting at the park looking bored like that last man there.

Here's another one of her shots. It looks like it came straight out of a magazine. It's a picture of Liverpool! Oh how I wish I could go on holiday and get away!!!
